Little Muddy Boots

What is a little muddy boots session?

My Little Muddy Boots SEND sessions are designed to provide a safe and stimulating outdoor environment where children can explore nature and develop their sensory and motor skills. Set in a secure and calming outdoor space, these sessions allow children to engage with nature in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for them.

During each session, children are free to discover and explore at their own pace, with a range of activities tailored to suit their interests and needs. Tuff trays filled with various materials offer a sensory-rich experience, enabling children to touch, feel, and manipulate a variety of textures. These trays are carefully curated to encourage sensory exploration, whether it’s digging in the soil, splashing in water, or playing with natural materials like leaves and stones.

Do you have a sensory area?

We also have a dedicated sensory area, where children can immerse themselves in calming and stimulating activities that promote focus, relaxation, and a sense of curiosity about the natural world. This area provides a space for hands-on learning, where children feel supported and encouraged.

One of the favourite activities is making mud pies! Children love getting their hands dirty, mixing mud, water, and natural ingredients, using their imaginations to create their own muddy masterpieces. It’s a wonderful way for them to develop fine motor skills and creativity while enjoying the freedom of being outdoors.

My goal is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space where children with SEND can enjoy the benefits of outdoor play, explore their senses, and experience a sense of accomplishment in a non-judgemental and fun environment.
