About Me

Hello,

I am Jenna. I am a mummy to 2 children. I have always worked in early years setting around Berkshire and have a Degree in Children's Learning and Development.

I am deeply passionate about working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), guiding them through their unique journey of growth and celebrating every milestone along the way. My dedication stems from a personal connection – I am a twin to an autistic brother, and from a young age, I found joy in supporting him on his path to development.

One of my fondest memories is reading with him, discovering the world through the pages of books he adored. Our journey together inspired me to create this platform, where I strive to offer support and understanding to families navigating similar paths.

Through "Together One Step at a Time," I aim to share my experiences, knowledge, and insights to foster a nurturing and inclusive community. Here, parents can find solace in knowing they are not alone, free from judgment, and empowered to embrace each step of their child's journey.

Join me as we walk this path together, one step at a time.

My experience in childcare

I enjoy learning and have always been passionate about helping children to thrive. This led me achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 6 Degree in Children's Learning and Development.

  • Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Diploma (2023).

  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Clearance.

Working experience

I have over 15 years of working with children in a variety of settings around Reading, Berkshire. This has always been with children aged 6 and under, mainly in nursery settings.

I have helped with SEND paperwork during my experience and liaised with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, eye specialist and family workers.

Life experience

As a SEND sibling, I understand the struggles in daily life and how hard it can be.

People always say I am patient, passionate, caring and helpful. These are great skills to have when working with SEND children and families.

This experience and passion combined has helped me to create this safe space where children and adults can come and meet other parents and carers in a safe judge free space.
