About my SEND parties

At Together: One Step at a time, I understand that celebrating a child's birthday can be exciting yet overwhelming. Children can find it a stressful time causing lots of anxiety due to shared attention, change of routine and lots of unexpected visitors.

I offer 5 different themes for parties which all come with: 2 sensory tuff trays, resources linked with the theme, calming sensory tent and sensory area and parachute activity at the end if wanted. 

We can speak about the resources and help create an environment for your little one to suit their needs and interests. Parties can be tailored to a theme that is of your child's interests, i will try as hard as I can!

Do we have to sing happy birthday?

We don't have to sing happy birthday, this can be a trigger for a lot of children.

We can play a favourite song or not at all!

How many children do I recommend?

I recommend a maximum of 10 children, children can become overwhelmed easily and it can be more enjoyable for the children if there are fewer numbers. 

 

How long do I recommend?

I recommend an hour for a party. This is enough time for children to explore and investigate the resources.

How long do I hire the venue?

I would ask you to hire the venue for a minimum of 2 hours. It will take me about 30 minutes to set up the area and 30 minutes to pack away. 

​

Invitations

I can send you some premade invites to print out linked with the theme of your party. 

These will ask for allergies for the sensory trays.

​

How do we end the party?

​

We can end the party with the parachute, or bubbles or both!

​

Food

Ideally I'd ask for no food whilst the resources are out as they can become ruined and stained.

 

Location

I'm happy to travel in the Reading area.

The venue needs parking access for myself and for your guests.
